Objective
For the quality domain, you will be responsible for the interfacing and integration of Soitec Belgium NV into the Soitec corporate structure and the global quality system. The goal is to eventually implement global processes in Hasselt: the challenge will be to translate the global quality directives and the production experience in France to the local situation. And finding answers to a number of challenges and non-conformities (difference in size, different technologies and production processes).
To meet these challenges, you will need strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills at different levels in the organization, both locally and internationally. You will need strong critical and analytical thinking skills, as well as project management skills to manage all processes and stakeholders.
Apart from the quality aspects of the role, you will also devote about 25% of your time to tackling and improving HSE issues, in line with Soitec guidelines.
Responsibilities and Areas of Achievement
- Your onboarding starts in HQ in Bernin, at the heart of the French Silicon Valley near Grenoble, and continues in the cleanroom in Hasselt.
- You are responsible for quality management for GaN (Gallium Nitride) products, including maintaining, enforcing, and continuously improving quality procedures according to certifications and customer needs.
- You contribute to the optimization and continuous improvement of the production process.
- You define and assess non-conformities.
- You oversee quality requirements throughout the entire value chain for GaN products.
- You communicate with customers and manage customer requirements and complaints regarding quality.
- You aim to improve wafer quality, the quality and reliability of development processes for new products and contribute to the qualification of new products from R&D.

- Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and reporting skills applicable in a matrix organization.
- Proactive and pragmatic with the ability to connect at all levels, influencing others.
- Analytical with a focus on the bigger picture and the ability to tackle complex problems through critical thinking.
- Experience in a quality function in a manufacturing environment (semiconductor industry is a plus).
- Master's or PhD degree in physics, chemistry, materials science, or electronics (electrical engineering specialization in electronics).
- Fluent in English and culturally adaptable due to the international nature of Soitec Belgium.
